Meet Arvind

I’m a Database Analyst and I’ve been with RBS for over four years. During this time I’ve found the company to be a brilliant combination of people, cultures and values. It is no exaggeration to say that RBS is my extended family.

As a DB analyst, I’m involved in the end-to-end design, testing, implementation and support phases of multiple projects, supporting major applications. I’ve had the chance to work on Project Falcon, a highly prestigious initiative within the bank to enhance our existing debit and credit card security systems, further protecting our customers from fraud. That involved working with 17 infrastructure platforms, in addition to DB2. I was also a part of the technology team in India who worked on the design and delivery of Apple Pay. In fact, we were among the first banks to launch this facility for our customers.

At RBS, there's no shortage of opportunities for someone who’s willing to learn and give their best. I’ve found the environment to be supportive and encouraging, and taken the opportunity to widen my technical knowledge. I'm now an IBM Certified Database Administrator. Earlier this year, I represented RBS at the IDUG conference, a reputed industry event, where DB2 users come together to collaborate and learn. I was privileged to be a speaker, presenting a talk on the technical aspects of DB2. My contribution was well received, and I was recognized for my volunteering efforts.

RBS’s flexible working policy has been instrumental in helping me pursue my passion for classical music. I’ve been learning it for seven years now, while also exploring the therapeutic aspect of this traditional art form. I’m also exploring how classical ragas have been used in film music
