Role:

The role will lead and coach a project team of Transactional FX within Transaction Banking to deliver great results through the use of agile and scrum techniques. This will involve explaining and embedding scrum practices, driving improvements in the way the team works and fostering a collaborative, trusting, self-organising and high performing team culture. Role will help to build a great scrum based culture and way of working.

The focus will be on delivering great project outcomes through regular sprints. Role will be using your planning expertise to anticipate and resolve problems and handle multiple project components. In the process, role will be ensuring that everything develops in line with agreed goals, costs and time scales. Role will build and lead a high performing team, distributed team across locations that keep the customer service at the heart of its core values.

Commercial Banking offers comprehensive banking solutions, Finance business assets & invoices and provides specialist finance & transaction services. CPB serves 46,000 customers, from GBP 2 m+ turnover SMEs to global corporations across UK & Western Europe. Private banking offer secure private banking and investment management expertise as well as provide sophisticated credit and lending solutions. Transaction Management team specifically work across all CPB business areas, from our SME to large corporates, both domestic & abroad.


Your responsibilities:

  • Act as Scrum Master and lead the teams and sprints towards achieving project goal.

  • Have a strong alignment with global stakeholders across technology, change and product franchise. Build strong relationships with product owners and cross franchise, cross domain teams.

  • Lead all scrum ceremonies including sprint reviews, retrospectives, scrum meetings and planning and reporting via JIRA.

  • Improve the platform’s agile maturity up constantly in every quarter.

  • Acting as process owner for the team, and maintaining the relationship with the project's key stakeholder

  • Coaching the team to higher levels of Agile and Scrum maturity, and helping them define their ways of working

  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution

  • Removing any impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and working with the product owner to make sure the product backlog is in good shape and ready for the next sprint

  • Build and lead a high performing team distributed across multiple locations

  • Set clear goals, provide directions and motivate the team

  • Structured coaching and mentoring the team

  • Responsible to develop the capability of self and the team on the domain, technology and process

  • Operational efficiency for thoughtful and intelligent cost management

The skills you will need:

We're looking for someone with experience of successfully coaching a team using scrum and agile methodology. You'll need project or change management experience, excellent interpersonal skills and an assured grasp of agile and scrum techniques.

You'll also ideally demonstrate:

  • Experience of successful scrum adoption, and an understanding of the agile manifesto and principles

  • Knowledge of modern development practices and tools, and the enthusiasm to keep up to speed and share your expertise

  • Experience of changing old organisational mind-sets and ways of working

  • Deep understanding of the Agile principles and Scrum Master certification such as a CSM, PSM or CSP

  • The ability to work influentially with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders across our business

  • A keen eye for risk and potential problems, and a proactive approach to finding solutions

  • The determination to keep developing your project management talents and take on new responsibilities

  • Domain knowledge on FX & Products domain

  • Identifies and acts on opportunities to collaborate with a wide range of people across different areas of the business.

  • Uses knowledge, expertise and relationship techniques to become a trusted and credible partner to customers. Considers internal insight and scans external horizon to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
