In 2013 we agreed a £600m pre-IPO investment in our Williams & Glyn business with a consortium of investors led by global financial services specialists Corsair Capital and Centerbridge Partners. This follows a government ruling for RBS to divest some of its branches to open up more competition in high-street banking. Upon completion, William’s & Glyn will consist of 308 former RBS branches in England and Wales and six former NatWest branches in Scotland. It will serve over 1.7 million personal, SME and mid-corporate customers.
