The Role

If your expertise lies in the various activities associated with testing such as planning, preparation, execution and closure, a position as Test Analyst is ideal for you. In this role, you will be responsible for system test planning, test design, test automation, test execution and test closure activities within the Platform Services team.

To qualify for this role, you need to have minimum five years of software/application testing experience.

What the Business Does

This role is based in the Core Banking & Payments function within Services reporting to the Test Manager.

Platform Services is within Core Banking & Payments.  This is a fundamental part of the RBS Transformation Initiative. It aims to standardise and simplify the Bank’s integration efforts through SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) which is instrumental in becoming a more agile and flexible IT organisation closely supporting new business initiatives.

The Platform will pre-dominantly interface with service consumers such as business process applications and core backend systems.

Your Responsibilities

As Test Analyst, you will be required to:

  • Prepare Test Plans for our services system and system integration testing, participate in design walk-throughs and ensure adherence to testing principles/processes/frameworks
  • Design and develop the test scenarios, create and maintain the test scripts, identify and prepare the test data requirements and create and run the automated test scripts
  • Work collaboratively with our stakeholders and delivery partners is a necessity, we work with teams from across the Business and Technology supplying solutions for all types of projects and the role holder must be able to work with different teams and projects
  • Participate in defect management, raise appropriate defects in Jira, and take part in defect review meetings
  • Prepare test closure activities, including creating test completion reports

 

Skills you need

  • Experience of working in Agile methodologies, tools such as Jira and Zephyr and Quality Center, experience of working in large and dispersed teams
  • Entire project and testing life cycle experience, strong understanding of project and quality disciplines, ability to produce various testing reports and matrices
  • Hands on testing experience of functional system testing, system integration testing,  manual and automated testing would be an advantage but not a requirement
