The Role

The Role holder will responsible for all operational aspects of client static data management, margin call issuance, portfolio reconciliation and query management for these processes. The teams are also responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of trade information required to perform the above functions, internal stakeholder management, reporting & monitoring and operational compliance to Market Regulations as well as adherence to the internal RBS risk and control framework.

What the Business Does

This role is based in the Transaction Management Operations reporting to the Vice President.The Transaction Management Operations is a dedicated function established within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Services to manage the transaction integrity in terms of efficiency and control. Settlement of securities is a business process whereby securities are bought or sold, usually against (in simultaneous exchange for) payment of money, to fulfill contractual obligations, such as those arising under securities trades. This settlement marks the official transfer of the securities to the buyer's account and the cash to the seller's account.  This activity is performed in various markets and for most the settlement cycle is T+2.

 

Your Responsibilities

As Vice President, you will be required to:

  • Responsible for a team of 11 FTE that capture, investigation, narration and reporting of collateral margin call and trade level discrepancies, Responsible for the escalation and all regulatory reportable portfolio & trade level discrepancies, for the approval of significant margin exposure movements (USD $50M) , for all process attestation and governance, Responsible for internal audit co-ordination and any resulting remediation works.
  • Ensure the team who are in direct communication with external clients on a daily basis to resolve discrepancies are meeting minimum business customer service requirements, testing and sign-off of monthly assurance testing to verify quality of interaction with customers, coaching and mentoring junior members of staff to deal with external customer base.
  • Ensure a robust control framework in the department, Responsible for CVO adherence to all internal policies and Risk & Control Environment. Must demonstrate a natural inclination to challenge the current process and be able to provide evidence of previous success. Advanced knowledge of regulations impacting the OTC derivative market.

 

Skills you need

  • 5 years+ knowledge of Collateral Management is required, 6 – 8 years knowledge and experience of OTC products is required, Experience of working as part of a global location strategy team.
  • 2-3+ years of managing senior front office and internal stakeholder relationships, good understanding of ISDA and CSA definitions related to collateral management.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to individuals in the team, Perform effectively and act according to the RBS, Values and People Standards. Know and understand all compliance policies associated with the role and responsibilities, Goals and delivery orientated. Strong influencing skills.
  • Must demonstrate a natural inclination to challenge the current process and be able to provide evidence of previous success.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulations impacting the OTC derivative market.
