The Role

If your expertise lies in post-value balance reconciliation, substantiation, investigation and reporting for Fixed Income, Futures, Rates, Credit and Equity businesses, a position as Analyst is ideal for you. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the team maintains a strong understanding of the core funding roles to enable them to challenge anomalies and validate effectively.To qualify for this role, you need to have prior Banking/Treasury operations experience especially with reconciliation and balance substantiation.

 What the Business Does

This role is based in the Transaction Management Operations reporting to the Vice President.The Transaction Management Operations is a dedicated function established within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Services to manage the transaction integrity in terms of efficiency and control. Settlement of securities is a business process whereby securities are bought or sold, usually against (in simultaneous exchange for) payment of money, to fulfill contractual obligations, such as those arising under securities trades. This settlement marks the official transfer of the securities to the buyer's account and the cash to the seller's account.  This activity is performed in various markets and for most the settlement cycle is T+2.

 

Your Responsibilities

As an Analyst, you will be required to:

 

  • Perform next day review and substantiations of closing positions on all Markets Nostros held with RBS, NatWest and NV entities
  • Liaise with Finance teams to ensure correct balance distribution and cost allocation for book and account level post value positions, engage and educate stakeholders on funding processes, interactions and impacts
  • Provide support to change programs impacting Cash Funding, use initiative and experience to challenge existing practices and processes, strict management of team mailbox and checklist, responding to queries within internal SLAs
  • Work with the Front Office to improve communication, understanding and processes, review and adapt procedures to changing requirements and conditions

 

Skills you need

  • Knowledge and experience of break and balance investigations, front to back banking knowledge, project delivery experience
  • Awareness of controls and operational risk, good Microsoft skills, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge and experience of Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives products
  • Experience of Nostro funding and reconciliation and SWIFT payment
  • Good system knowledge (including SGL, Intellimatch, TLM)
