The Business

The Role

Join us as an Associate where this role is for supporting specific functional tasks across platforms like Month end, maintaining data controls & resolving exceptions. Use in depth technical knowledge to define the solution to the proposed problem, articulate pros and cons of the options being discussed and drive discussion towards optimal solutions. Support team /leaders to liaise with application developers and local IT teams to design and test data migration/loading procedures to support system integration testing and final conversion. Conduct regular review of the documentation with respect to business rules, functional specifications, and process interpretation for assigned applications, systems, and business solutions created and updated by team and advise of gaps and amendments.

 

What the Business Does

 

The Business is involved in ensuring control over data flows through systems supported. Team is the business owners for company`s key finance systems and is responsible for production support and takes care of any queries related to the system in a controlled manner. They would be expected to lead and develop team ensuring first class service delivery for customers, define, lead and continually improve a robust and compliant support and operating model for all transformation, development and production support activity. As a senior member in the Systems and Ledger Control Centre of Excellence, they need to create collaborative working partnerships with key stakeholders and suppliers in Business and also ensure compliance to internal control processes and policies.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As an Associate, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage resolution of any end user  raised queries or issues which may require detailed business analysis
  • Manage on behalf of finance  resolution of any production incidents raised with Technology Services  by providing business insight / justification & supporting validation of impact on Business of Technology recommended options
  • Suggest resolution of any complex queries or issues which may require detailed business analysis and engagement with Technology Services colleagues
  • Ensure stakeholder follow up & interaction to resolve exceptions across various validation checks Maintain and continually improve a robust and compliant Support and Operating model for all development and production activity for Systems
  • Role may also offer exposure to managing less senior members of the team on specific support tasks or projects
  • Delivery of a first class business support function ensuring customer expectations managed at all times
  • Resolution of all support issues and queries within appropriate timescales, always delivering fit for purpose solutions
  • Review process SOP for continuous improvement and take accountability of the process documents.
  • Positive contribution to the strategic development of finance systems platforms
  • Support “current” Operating Model for development and support
  • Escalation of all significant issues to senior management in a timely and appropriate manner ensuring adverse exposure to SAS or SSF is minimised
  • Excellent analytical skills with proven ability to solve complex issues, always offering a range of solutions and recommendations to support an agreed resolution
  • Ensure the processes are handled as per process guidelines. In case of any process changes ensure these are documented and communicated to all the related teams.

The Skills You’ll Need

In order to be successful in this role, you must have the following skills & experience:

  • Strong Operational Accounting experience
  • First class analysis skills with proven ability to solve complex issues, always offering a range of solutions and recommendations to support an agreed resolution
  • Self starter who can work with a number of different teams across all divisions in the group.
  • Well rounded knowledge of Banking Systems within RBS with specific knowledge expertise on the Group systems platforms and hierarchies with expertise knowledge on the key finalnce application and its linkage with various systems.
  • Well rounded knowledge on the activities and scope of work required to be performed in a systems support team.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Proven ability of gathering information from a range of different sources and in a number of different ways e.g. data collection, manuals, documentation creation etc.
  • Knowledge to migrate financial data from Old systems to the new Oracle Platform. This requires strong system analysis, planning, and testing skills (i.e. data analysis, conversion, and validation against original source data) as well as error handling.
  • Requires a commerce Graduate degree. At least 5 years of work experience.
  • Good knowledge of Project Management Frameworks, Governance, documentation standards and Project Lifecycle.
  • Management degree qualification (Post Graduate)
