In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end operational governance of the business functions in scope, engaging, challenging, and coordinating among a multi-disciplined team across locations.To qualify for this role, you need to have prior experience in a business management / operational management role, working on multiple priorities and delivering under pressure.

What the Business Does

This role is based in the Commercial & Private Banking(CPB) at Technology India reporting to the Head of CPB Technology India.

Commercial & Private Banking Technology India is an extended unit of C&PB Technology which provides all Technology Services for C&PB Business.  Technology India designs, builds, implements and supports global technology services for the bank. This includes application builds, testing, deployment, on-going IT Infrastructure support and a broad range of Keeping the Show on the Road (KSOR) activities. It is a key strategic element of the global technology function, enabling the bank to deliver 24/7 services to customers. The team also provides technology needs to the bank’s local businesses.

 

Your Responsibilities

As Business Operations Manager, you will be required to:

  • Ensure sound operational governance and management of the functions in scope with data and insights, manage the implementation of the target operating model for all functions in scope
  • Gather, measure, collate, and analyze data from different sources in order to drive better business performance,  ensure compliance of mandatory training requirements – GPL, DTL, etc
  • Manage financial performance, effective risk and controls management, drive governance processes, run people processes, run management reporting, manage supplier relationships, run PMO functions, and generally ensure a high level of operational hygiene
  • Initiate and drive function-wide initiatives aligned with road-map and strategy, such as implementation of the optimal operating model, location strategy, vendor strategy, cost take-out, productivity improvement, communication strategy, delivery governance, etc
  • Manage financial parameters covering direct and indirect costs, financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost management
  • Help deliver accurate, high class dashboards through respective teams covering People, Process, Tools, Cost, Risks, Location, and Suppliers

 

Skills you need

  • Experience in communications, marketing or change management preferred, experience in working with, analyzing, and managing data across multiple sources, and recognising patterns to drive insights
  • Experience with financial management, cost management, budgeting, and forecasting processes, experience managing people processes
  • Experience in risk and controls management and project portfolio management, excellent interpersonal skills and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with supplier management and negotiation
